IVL Fleet Development thread

Archives for ships and fleets. 'nuff said. Most of the ships here are very very old and will not work in current versions of BSF or SM. You have been warned!

Cool fleet you got, hope to see it released in the future. Gives a "standard pattern" feeling, I like that. Makes it feel like a organized battle fleet. And the wide array of weapons gives a good "battleship" feeling.

Don't know if you have found this yet, but I found a parenting error on the Hades witch results in a floating engine.

It's like all the ships entered in the beauty pageant passed through a parenting screw up field on their way there...

Maybe it's BSF, but that Hades is showing some stock green.

Looks like only the red parts in the hades diagram are showing up green there. My guess is that they're team colored, so it's not a screw-up.

Yeah, those are the "house" colors Lizzie mentioned. I just have the default color settings right now.

Yea thats the house color pieces. Their supposed to recolor like that. Helps show which ones are hostile and which are friendly.

As for the parenting error. I'll fix it later. It's not a top priority and after having refitted ALL the current IVL ship's weapons. I'm a bit tired.

Small craft.
In order.
1. Bomber
2. Gunship
3. Corvette
(Note this picture does not show the scale between the fighters and the corvette well. The corvette is more then twice the size of the fighter)

To show the size of the fighter.

IVL fighters!! Awesome ships and style, good to see the IVL back. Some sugestions:
You did a very good job with the red 25 and 4 sections on the Stix Class, I think you should use them more on the other ships also.
And for the engines, they are not bad, but I think they would look better with an aegis effect, like Anna's Cerberus. You could put the aegis over the sections themselfs, so it wouldnt take more space.

ps: just one more question, is there any chance we see a new War Clockwork anytime soon?

1. I've been working on that actually. But not to any picture-worthy scale yet.
2. No Aegis. The engines will be as they are for now.
3. Not much chance of seeing a WCW. I dunno.

Now that I think of it...I want to see another WCW ship too. It would be the ninth right?
The United Commonwealth Military and Spootech Industries joint fleet.

There was never an 8th.

And once again, I highly doubt I'll be making another WCW. Being they was all based on a BSG type hull, and I got sick of doing that.

IVL-KKO Smart Space mine

While IVL has never really used "Kinetic Kill Ordnance" weapons to any sort of significant degree, this changed with the introduction of this mine. Since the not-so-recent incursion into IVL space ordered by the former VSE leader, IVL needed extra defensive ability rather then relying purely on their mobile garrison fleets. So using an old concept, IVL engineers went to work on the KKOSSMine.

Equipped with a computer thats set to seek out any ship that comes within a certain (very long) distance of the mine and detonate near the ship, spraying it with around 40 high density pellets. This basically shreds the ships to bits with just one mine, let alone a whole mine field.

The mines are surprisingly heavy armored, to allow for them to approach ships successfully.
