CPP-Potkustart

Archives for ships and fleets. 'nuff said. Most of the ships here are very very old and will not work in current versions of BSF or SM. You have been warned!

CPP-Potkustart

Post by Kartoffelkopf »

I got bored and decided to make the Potkustart (Kickstart) from Star Wreck: In the Pirkinning. It's essentially a Star Trek parody so the ship isn't too original, lulz.

Anyway, it's my first ship in a while and my first time making a ship with...circles....so yeah. It looks kinda crap, so any advice so far? Make the bits in the centre smaller or something?

The circle is pretty round though, I'll give you that.

I don't mind the repetition because they work well, but theres a few depth mistakes on the saucer, the engineering section could be slightly bigger, and I would definitely add detail to the nacelles depending on how serious of a ship you want to make it. That said you got the shape down quite well.

Nice. The original Potkustart. Constipation (Instead of Constitution) Class Starship. Can either fire Twinklers, Lightballs, raise shields or go to red alert (Since the power isint enought for all systems)

Since the reference pic is from the 2D movie, try and change the shade of the grey in the middle circle section to a lighter color shade, this will also give you a sligthly more in-depth feeling.

Concerning detail, try and watch the second and third mini-movie, since they are in 3D, although the shil is escentially an Constitution class.

One more thing, (which I can't help but nagg about :p ). The ship from Star-Wreck: In the Pirkninning is either a Sovereign like ship or a model of his own design (Depending if it is the Imperial Edition or the free one).
They also use a Galaxy like ship, which is actually called Galaxy Class.

Pointers on Star-Wreck ships:
- Sligthly more weaponry than on normal ST ships.
- A more "Rusty" or "Dirty" look, darker colors.
- Breaks easily, prone to malfunctions, quickly get a "wrecky" look.
- Weak beam weapons, Strong explosive weapons (Lightballs)
- Fires more and fires faster.

But nicework overall. Now add some weapons! :D

Well depending on which version of the movie you watch, it's either the actual canon Star Trek and Babylon 5 designs or it's a bulkier version of them.

Okay, here's the first weapons set. Pointers for weapon and ship stats would be good. Also added a rear gravbeam. The front one was destroyed by Romuclans. ¬_¬;

Tried to do what you said, Nevindar, but there are too many bloody parts. xD; I'm lazy.

Oh yes, I watched 2, 3 and 4.5 yesterday. Might add more parts to add the bits at the top...

Ok, why are you using rectangles on a round portion of the ship?

Nice description of it. Even though there are still some tweaking to be done on the hull, I gotta say you got the engines to look good.

I also reccomend tweaked Missile Launchers as Lightball cannons, since they give a better explosive damage. You can change te size of the weapons to fit more perfectly with "a" and "q" (if you did not know that).

You are on a good way to make an intresting ship.

hmmm... i can see why it doesn't look good, and i can also see why it's so hard to make it look good. the reqtangles (i just figured out how blondes feel while spelling!) overlap all circular shapes, making them just look AWFUL! now, i'm not the best ship maker myself, but even MY eyes hurt looking at the odd shapes. fix it using many over lapping circles, with the smallest in front, and closest to the core, while it's desendednts get larger, larger, and larger, the deeper you go, even thogh that would mean if enough damage was dealt, it would get CONSISTANTLY SMALLER. i hope that works, and doesn't sound like it came from an idiot.

I havent seen star wreck but the traditional trek ships have a done on top of the saucer, maybe use 14s to cover up the ugliness in the center of the saucer, and the rest would look better. And maybe add some glowiness to the nacelles so they aren't so boring...

The problem with that however, is that it would look like a target, or something like the French wing emblem from World War II with 20 times the circles.
