Wow nice ships and backstory. That's one scary race. I love the glacier and the blizzard the most.
Although, like said earlier, ice weapons do seem a bit far fetched, but I could see it. Nice job!
P.S. Contrary to popular belief, space is NOT cold. It is nothing. You wouldn't instantly freeze or anything in open space. However, because there is nothing you would leak out your body heat. This means that eventually you would freeze, but it's not instantaneous like hollywood would like you to believe. due to the vacuum pulling out the moisture in your body and it vaporizing you would also feel 'chilly'. So your races ritual still makes sense completely, I just bring this up whenever I can.

Surprisingly that's a no too, I mean with time your blood vessels will expand and what not. Don't believe me go to nasa.gov. Hollywood totally skewed what space is really like. Now if you hold your breath, your lungs will explode, but if you don't, the article says you can survive for about 60 to 90 seconds in vaccum if immediately replaced in a suitable pressure.

Visual recordings of one of the Coldsouls border-fight with the Profit Coalition [yup, new race, will post their story&ships soon under the Coldsouls, in this topic. Battle was run AIvsAI]
The station has the most powerful of it's weaponry - the Ice Stream - active, but other weapon systems are still underpowered and unable to work at full effective. Plus, at the beginning of the battle, the PC manage to seriously cripple the Glaicer.
After a long fire exchange, the Snowflake gets seriously damaged, and seconds after the evacuation of most personell it is destroyed, exploding effectively. One of the Iceberg transports, that were near the station with supplies, covers the jumping away escape pods.
All through the battle is lost, the captain of the Blizzard stays in the system, holding off the pursue after the evacuated civilians. With it's six Ice Shard Guns, the Blizzard shows it's enemies where it has got it's name from.
Sadly, some moments later, the Blizzard gets flanked, and quickly destroyed, thou it still manages to take another enemy ship down, before it's core detonates.
Fin.
All through the station and most ships present were destroyed, the enemy lost 50% of the attacking force, plus all units that were left were medium to heavy damaged, and unable to further take part in any military action, until repaired at dry dock.
