2D > 3D requests here ^^ First ship! 3D Helios!

Archives for ships and fleets. 'nuff said. Most of the ships here are very very old and will not work in current versions of BSF or SM. You have been warned!

It's perfectly free unless you want to render animations, in which case you will have to register it. If you don't register you can't save the rendered animations. It's that simple.

Clockwork

Post by MachinesInMotion »

Hi. Here is the current untextured version of the Clockwork. Please tell me if there are any suggestions. Anticipating questions (and answering old ones):
1) The tool is called Lightwave. Google it if you want.
2) I changed the missile launchers on the sides into vertical launch tubes at the request of DanHawking If you like it better the other way, let me know and I'll change them.
3) The vast majority of the basic shape was traced directly from the 2D version I was given. Addressing previous questions, no, the nose is not too long.
4) The final render (with textures, weapons flashing) will be finished in a bit, this is just the one directly pulled from the modelling program.

Any other questions, feel free to ask.

PS: No, no WC3 mods.
EDIT: Not actually the final version...

Question: Why haven't you been building the stock ships? Heh.

In terms of criticism:
-The Gattling Pulses don't look like turrets. They just sorta look like balls glued onto the hull with straws stuck on the front.
-The hexagonal engines look sorta detached from the hull; the engines don't look integrated into the hull as you'd think they would be the case with huge engines.
-What're those weird dish things on the engines? Dieterlings? Deflectors? The dishes look good, but their mounts look... uhm... not so good. I'd be more tempted to try a disk with all three mounted on the edge instead of the weird ball and arm mounts.

Their deflectors, and I already had Aralonia tell him to pull them.

Because Aralonia had him specifically start on my request. More or less to also prove a point.

That looks awesome. I think the engines should be encased vertically as well.

You know, you should also keep a seperate version of each weapon as a seperate model, so you can re-use them on other ships.

Unless you already have, if so please ignore this post.
