2D > 3D requests here ^^ First ship! 3D Helios!

Archives for ships and fleets. 'nuff said. Most of the ships here are very very old and will not work in current versions of BSF or SM. You have been warned!

Lizzie, to be blunt : Cool it.

Da Don Mega's comment was, please excuse me here fairly (That's "fucking extremely") obviously meant as a joke, as was mine.
MDmakaan's point was valid. He asked if anyone had a picture of ships he could work with and said "Don't do too difficult ones", so you posted a supermonitor - his example of not difficult was the Helios, so check the comparison of parts/detail.
Ok in order:

1: Doesn't mean I should find it funny.

2: That depends on your idea of difficult. And thats not a super monitor, it's half the size of my Velvet Hammer capital ship and thats just a plain monitor. If you want a HARD ship to make, I will show you one.

3: He did not post any sort of REAL solid limits, nor did he post those pics till AFTER I showed the ships. So stating his example, is not valid.

Eh. Not all that impressed by the renderings. I'd work on making them look less like sheet cakes and more like ships. That is, you need to give them a real third dimension, not just a block in the shape of the ship with modules and weapons tossed on top of it.

Neither am I, but I still want to see an Enyo anyway. Thanks Choines.

@ Kaelis: If you can do it, and do it better, then by all means go do it.

They're also... pretty damn flat for 3D.

If I had modeling skills I'd be able to make relatively good designs... guess it's time to learn 3DS Max.

What the hell is it with people being so touchy here? Ive never seen so many members getting offended with such petty things.

Holidays ruined because someone over teh internets is not impressed with his work... what next, cutting yourself because that guy in the supermarket said he doesn't like the color of your car?

I side with Kaelis. Seriously. I don't understand it, I don't like it, and I think you're all fools for doing it. The world is filled with idiots. Don't join the masses by reacting to them.

*Ahem*
Stop Hijacking the thread.

For one, I offer some constructive criticism: I would suggest using the grayscales of the sections as heightmaps (or something like that... forgot what they called it) on the models. Or, if your modeller doesn't support this, double it up and use them as textures.
