The Omega Station, Mk. 1

Archives for ships and fleets. 'nuff said. Most of the ships here are very very old and will not work in current versions of BSF or SM. You have been warned!

To put it at scale, this is probably about 10% complete, with a 5% margin of error.

Good luck with that. I hope it'll be enjoyable to watch along the way... And massive when finished.

Although these huge pink things which that station spawns should be turned off.

I use those to screw with human pilots. Though, they are a tad big.

But how to destroy this station when any spot is practically invulnerable?

Patience and agility.

Mostly the latter. It has a big, big hull, and not enough deflectors to cover it.

Looks like I should try to attack it like Death Star was attacked - loads of small ships.

Exactly.

Any big, slow ship would probably get eaten alive, unless it was bigger than the Station itself; in which case it'd probably still get eaten alive, considering how much firepower the Station is throwing around.

This would make an awesome boss for the metal fox. Brings Warning Forever to mind.

What's the smallest fleet where you managed to defeat this station?

BTW, the problem why I can't defeat the station is the fact that there are too many shield and repair modules, nullifying any fire.

I have yet to playtest this thing, but I know that the Metal Fox would face nothing short of point-blank annihilation from it, mostly because the Omega Station's PD works on a "sea of fire" basis; the Flak Guns distances are set up so that both the enemy ship and all of the space between it and the Station are filled with flak, so effectively no interceptable projectiles make it through.

I'll consider toning down the deflectors; it currently has 20 deflectors to around 300 sections.

Actually, even 3 deflectors increase defence very significantly!

Not so much, when your ship profile is as large as this one is.

Well, actually they will. In that space station, resistance by deflectors last as long as sections with deflectors are finally exposed.

Could you rephrase that? I can't understand what you're trying to say.

It means that deflectors can defend any segment on the ship. If one segment gets destroyed, they can defend another one as well.
