I set it as 1400. I don't really care much for HP values. I'll put it lower or higher if people don't like it.Lizzie wrote:May I ask what the HP of this thing is?
I'm actually a bit disappointed with the abruptness of both the bow and stern. I might remodel the stern completely.
But the medium-long range firepower of that thing is quite mean.

Everytime someone says "HUEG LIEK XBAWKS", I get the urge to stab them repeatedly in the face. :x That meme is less funny than "All your base" and Chuck Norris jokes, and is nearly as old.
That said, this is a pretty nice looking ship.

Indeed. It's recently been replaced by HUEG LIEK PS3.Anna wrote:Everytime someone says "HUEG LIEK XBAWKS", I get the urge to stab them repeatedly in the face. :x That meme is less funny than "All your base" and Chuck Norris jokes, and is nearly as old.
*rimshot*
Interesting design. Are any of the weapons modified outside of range tweaks?
If you want to throw it up against the Myrmidon (or it's soon to be revealed sister, the Inappropriate Response(final name pending)) all the weapon stats are available in the thread, if somewhat scattered throughout.
And yes, that blunt-fronted bow looks pretty out of place on such a large ship.

Best hope you can avoid it's heavy foward facing ion beams then. Those things chewed parts quickly off of a 4000HP unsheilded dreadnought.Exethalion wrote:I set it as 1400. I just quoted what strategia said about the monitors. I hate PS2/3s as everyone else does. Illegal chipped XBOXs forever! That said, I still have a PSX. Damn good console.Anna wrote: Everytime someone says "HUEG LIEK XBAWKS", I get the urge to stab them repeatedly in the face. :x That meme is less funny than "All your base" and Chuck Norris jokes, and is nearly as old.
I assume those are railguns. In any case, hopefully deflectors can hold them back. I was going to aegis some of the sections immediately surrounding the core anyway. But I think the Antelope is preety vulnerable to beam weapons anyway. Lets just hope pure thickness of armour will help.Lizzie wrote: Best hope you can avoid it's heavy foward facing ion beams then. Nope, highly modded standard beamers. I've seen them overload a deflector or two as well. Tore large chunks from a unsheilded 4K HP dreadnought.Exethalion wrote: I assume those are railguns. She does however also have 20 Railguns mounted on the spine plates. And these are my new experimental "Quadshot" variant. 10 railguns per broadside, each fires 4 shots a piece. 40 railgun shot broadside FTW.
Not to crush your hopes&dreams though. Your ship is packing plenty of heavy iron itself. But we shall see.

Exethalion's hopes and dreams
Well, I was aiming for the Antelope to be able to attack the enemy and cause significant damage before the enemy can retaliate. It's a very offensive ship, compared to what the Victoria will be hopefully. The range on the pulse guns, blasters and missiles is very big. Unless the enemy has a dense point-defence, or aegis, then some big damage is going to be caused. But with the sluggish movement of the Antelope (despite it's name), and the presence of only one dieterling, then it's preety definite that It's going to take a couple of broadsides from those beamers and railguns.

When do we get to try it? Pretty sure MCH-01 Horatio Nelso--

Monitor, Command, Heavy, oh it still works
MCH-01 Horatio Nelson and MCH-02 Samuel Hood can take this thing out easily. Sam Hood, after all, took down Ragnarok's latest incarnation with little primary damage.

Meh, whip around with it all you like if you want. I'm trying to keep it as balanced as possible, if you can call anything balanced with ships as big as these. I'm taking more time tweaking it than I took to build it.

It's not even close to invulnerable. In fact it's very vulnerable to beamers and railguns in particular. Only if the attacking ship gets close enough to the Antelope to fire them. There's an awful lot of pulse gun, blaster and missile fire coming at them.
Below is the in construction Mr Brown class Battlecruiser, which will be the main escort of the monster Victoria class Monitor, yet to be built.

"gets within range" You should be more worried about being within range of Nelson/Hood to fire your main guns.

Ah yes but what you have failed to realise is that that Antelope is actually an optical illusion, designed to trick and bewilder you! Ha Ha! The real ship is actually being extensively redisigned by me because...because...
Oh crap. I'm going to get thrashed.
This emphasises the real weakness to beam and railgun attacks. Specifically when the AI fails to use the dieterling to get in to closer range and avoid the beams once they've been fired. But hopefully the Antelope will be part of a much more capable and efficient Strike Group!!!
