Strategia's Fleets (formerly The Iron Demons)

Archives for ships and fleets. 'nuff said. Most of the ships here are very very old and will not work in current versions of BSF or SM. You have been warned!

Strategia's Fleets (formerly The Iron Demons)

Post by Strategia »

Hi there folks :) Some of you might know me from E-Studios, but if that statement makes no sense at all to you then ignore it. I've recently been introduced to this game and liked it a lot, so I decided to build my own fleet :D

I'm currently working on a second fleet and I'm planning a third, and maybe more after that, so I'll bump this thread up every now and again when I have another fleet ready.

The Iron Demons (<- download link)
Motto: Blut und Eisen
Characteristics:
-Only one line of true general-purpose ships;
-Very heavy forward firepower;
-Limited maneuverability;
-The use of small, nimble fightercraft to support their larger, more sluggish capital ships;
-Variants on basic hulls, turning a general-purpose ship into a specialised vessel.

Some ships may be more balanced than others, but then again I basically made this fleet just for fun :D Enjoy pitting them against your own ships!

Preview of the fleet flagship, with a Nagayaship 3 and a Hestia for size comparison:

Release Versions:
-Iron Demons:
v0.4: First Release Version
-Golden Eagles:
v0.x: Development Stage
-Shining Path:
v0.0x: Planning Stage

I can't dl the ships
use a upload that doesn't require us to be mamber on another forum.
Look Up
upon reading this:
50% of people will have scrolled up
25% will have looked at their ceiling
The last 25% can now feel smug because everyone else has taken orders from a little sig box.

I don't like RapidShare. Try compressing your files into a .zip or a .rar, and upload them here on the ship database.

The flagship is nice, and although Aegis heavy, still sports a tactical weakness. Looks decently balanced, on its own scale, I mean. It'd rip the poor canon ships to bits. :D

Yeah, that's true :) then again, it IS the flagship, and most other ships have their own weaknesses that can be exploited. For example, ALL non-fighter ships have absolutely atrocious maneuverability, and almost all ships have horrible turret coverage. In the case of the flagship the primary weaknesses are the fact that there is a (tight) gap between the Aegis'ed forward sections leaving the core open to fire (though with 1000HP it will still take some time to take down, but it's a reason to risk your ships under the torrent of fire instead of swooping around back and picking away at section after section) and the fact that, like I said in the description, it moves like a brick suspended in congealed molasses :D

OK, will do.
edit: Houston, we have a problem. Max upload size is 150kB, the .rar file is 237kB at max compression :cry: Anyone who objects to using RapidShare, I'm seeding a torrent of the .rar file. (I hope people here know how to use it better than I do - otherwise, PM me your e-mail and I'll send it to you directly.)

Also, I'm working on the next fleet, with a somewhat similar theme :) This one will be called the Golden Eagles. Here's a preview of a battlecruiser (NOT the flagship!), again with Nagayaship 3 and a Hestia:

Tentative characteristics for Golden Eagle fleet:
-Comparatively small ships;
-Firepower and armour suffers in favour of speed and maneuverability;
-Most ships completely lack point-defence armament, and need to remain close to fire-support or dedicated PD ships, which do have these turrets;
-No true flagship like the Iron Demons', the closest they get are the battlecruiser I posted here and a very heavy support ship, comparable to a mix of the Iron Demons' dreadnought and ultra-heavy fire-support ship (based off the flagship);
-Small craft focus on bombers to bring the pain to enemy ships rather than fighters to take down enemy small craft - their fighters are still potent, but there are fewer than in the Iron Demon fleet.

Real nice vessels. Really cool, Strat. I know we brought it up on the other forums, but why not here?

Is it me, or do only 3 poeple really care about the little guy? Everything else is about the fucking wankship.

Indeed. He's only of the VERY few people who actually incorporates weakneses on his ships.

It's why it disappointed me that he got maybe before I originally posted 6-7 replies that aren't his?

One problem with the battlecruiser, most of it's firepower is foward facing, but the core can be blown up easily from that angle.
