It's a long-existing problem. Broadside AI will likely never work if you spawn your ship close to the target ship. But if you bring your ship from outside the max AI range into it, then at that point it should make the broadside turn and move towards the target until it reaches the min AI range. ht...

That row of small sections running down the center is sorta meh. I'd also say open up the hydraulic section with an image editor, and cut off the little rod stubs it has. They look odd sticking out into space.

Dunno what else to say though.

Not bad. It fits together pretty well, though I feel the front could use a bit more work. More specifically, the two very front sections feel out of place; they're usually more fitting as struts then armor.

I'll try that... Question, How do you make a pair of section go back 3 units then opens (like sliding door) by sliding 3 units to the side then goes back after the weapon stops from firing?? I think that last ship is treading too much in "brick" territory. Blocky ships can work if done right, but that ship's just... well a block. These newer ships have strange green areas over the thrusters too. If it's an engine glow, it'd probably go better behind the thrusters, rather then ...

What. If there's any one ship I designed it to battle, it was the Isak Sellanrå-class. Since there was no download of that, it was tested against the ACSS Maelstrom class and the older IVL Hades. So its designed to fight mid-range brawlers and carriers. Melee ships don't exist in the universe I work...

The general shape concept isn't bad, but the sections feel like they were just sorta glued on randomly. (Especially on the two side parts.) The blue on the engines is rather bright compared to the rest of the ship too.

The parenting lines are sorta distracting, but from what I see, I'd say play around with using some different shades of gray to create some sense of depth in the ship. Less blocky-looking weapons would help too.
