Try doing a sketch of it on paper beforehand, then you can get the basic shape down without actually making anything.

Change the booster color, and it'll be a lovely ship, excellent work :)
And I think the weapon placement is rather pretty, arcanedude :P
It is a little cluttered, but nothing is placed at random, everything looks good.
