I find keeping loading sprites into shipmaker (or keeping them in the build area itself) just reduces the variation of sprites I use. Instead I find having a load of windows open at the side and dragging and dropping sprites onto the ship much easier.

2) This problem will instantly fix itself if you place another section or just mirror the ship, you do not need to manually fish out all the doodads and re-parent them. You're missing the spreadsheet there... (It'd probably be best [if you're using google docs or similar] to set it up with a locked backup that only you can edit, like the main lasers wars doc)

I'm not sure how you've done it Anna. Not only do the last couple of ships you've posted look awesome, they've also somehow made all the other AIM ships look even better.

Looks good so far, the ships look nice a clean which I guess is the look you were going for. I like how the 'special feature' theme gives a little extra character to each ship.

Looks good, fairly simple but nicely done overall, nothing I can think to criticise it on. Some nice sectionwork and layering blending everything together there. Don't think there's much of a trick to using doodads, although using them as additive shading/highlights like on STARSTRUCK's Fold Guardia...

Nothing I can fault the appearance on, I like the use of subtle glows for highlights on the wings. So. . . it vomits red lasers onto its opponents face? Thanks for the compliments, unfortunately I've had difficulty making other ships in the same style as the Synergy, and as a result I've decided to go back to the original inspiration for said ship and build a new fleet along a similar but more repeatable style. Maybe I should just up the armour or speed of my own frigate. Every 1v1 frigate test ends in a one hit kill within a few seconds. :P Well an anti-capital ship torpedo is going to do some serious damage if it hits a small frigate.
