So, custom-section ship is on hold in favour of some Starcraft 2 fanboyism: http://img144.imageshack.us/img144/8986/smscreen011.png Any ideas on how to arm it - beyond the Yamato Cannon obviously, heh? Also, any better ideas for the wings - if there's one thing it's hard to do in BSF it would be mak...

The next step is curved pipes, corners, and joints - that is, if you were serious about the 'piping system' idea :) I believe that section sprites work best in an 80x80 box - not sure if there's a problem using smaller ones. Oh, and no matter what the size of the box you'd do well centring your spri...

I really don't get why everyone hates on spindly ships - not everything has to be some huge great penis extension covered head to toe in armour. Been playing a bit of Rogue Squadron - anyone remember the Rebel's frigate? That ship's drive section was a good few hundred meters from the main hull, con...

The yellow section on top still doesn't line up with the detailing beneath - doesn't look like you've got it exactly on centre, or it's one too many pixels too wide and so won't mirror perfectly anyway - might use a different section?

My Razer Copperhead works fine with everything :/

Perhaps try lowering the sensitivity? If this only happens with SM then there doesn't seem to be much reason other than, well, no, not even drivers, cos it would still be using the windows default for this - it's only a window after all :/

So... completely lacking in motivation after coursework I've been unable to come up with any designs for ages :( However, messing with some custom sprites I came up with this: http://img136.imageshack.us/img136/334/arcanis1.png with these: http://img139.imageshack.us/img139/5416/arcanis1firetest.png...

That white piece in the centre of the bow doesn't work next to those stretched and detailed parts - in fact, I would say re-do the bow a bit, cot it doesn't really follow the flow otherwise. The rest of it seems to be pretty standard stuff, though for some reason I like the stern - I like the custom...

Vulstar, just increase the 'max range' (I think that's what it is) in the sandbox options - that goes a long way to help ;) throw it to over 9,000 and you shouldn't have any problems...

Eh, I guess that could work - until the AI attacks the platforms...

Problem there is that they wouldn't respawn when they were destroyed, so a slight imbalance could end up to one team being spawn camped :O !

To get it rotating right you need to add blank pixels to the rear of the gun, as many pixels back as the muzzle-flash is forwards. That'll centre the sprite so it pivots right (though it gives it a huge selection box - if anyone has a better way do let me know :S)

Or perhaps take apache's idea further, and give us the powers to create the same battle with our own ships in the encounter-maker - endless respawns of AI enemies chosen at random from a pre-determined list - perhaps setting classes and max numbers within said class, allowing full-fledged fleet batt...

Droid wrote: I frame captured the thing, but then I realized I don't have ImageReady in my Photoshop CS Portable. Put an end to that plan rather quickly.
I though CS did away with the need for ImageReady, and the animation feature was built in? Or is that not the case on CS Portable?

Hell yeah, Kaelis - those sections are seriously sweet :D

Just out of curiosity, do you draw them out by hand first then pixel them in, or use a pet tool to stroke them? Particularly thinking of the curves here...
