Pff. :D Maybe Internet circa 1999. Which is what the forums remind me of now. The rest of the internet is maturing or already has moved beyond the childish notions of "flaming," memes, and lol<nouns>. Heck, most of what I see are reposts of stuff made between 2003-2005.

I noticed this too. I just attribute it to the fact that the forum is new, or that few games of this type and, arguably, genre (space battleship 'simulation') have been made. Therefore fans of it have become ornery since they are in a niche that isnt getting much love. Even those games that are made...

Thats what I did. :D That makes it harder for a ship loaded with weapons to take an early lead by either acquiring the other ship first or employing the weapons in an effort to overwhelm all defenses before a ship has a chance. It doesn't put slow ships at a disadvantage (and can sometimes help them...

I think my favorite rule here is the stacking rule: -Sections may overlap other sections within reason. No more than 25% can be covered by another section. Because as I read an played around with the old ships from previous tournies, I couldn't help but sniffle my nose how they stacked pieces and th...

Hmm. I like the 1 point every 45°, then it goes 1 point: 135°; 2 points: 180°. Not to mention it won't Cap you, it will allow for a " USS Monitor" like ship, that could have a turret with 360°, but very expensive(+6 points).
I like it, actually.

I wouldnt go much more that 135 for balance reasons. I mean, Frigate has to serve a purpose, if the firing arcs are too wide, then Frigates have to be faster in order to flank, a lot faster. Just through some testing, even a ship with a speed of 4.40 (and turning 1.8 ) has some trouble flanking fast...

Oh! A tournament I won't be late for :D I would have to agree with Uranus and say that turning is a bit too cheap for battleships (though disagree with section pricing, I think thats just fine). How about reducing it to .06, and leaving the other two the same. Sounds like a small change but its all ...
