Its really annoying. The only thing I can kill it with is with plasmas. Anyone else have any luck? Also, I think I'm going to either go with an improved BoxOGunz or some other sort of blaster ship for after the Aegis are down. See my post. Make some tac spammers or railgun spammers and you'll see i...

Just a reminder to people, get your lightweights in. Also, I will break ties in the following manner: Additional sets of ships will be spawned in formation fairly close to where the action is, each set being behind their opponent. Say that X and Y are in a tie, and arranged like so: X-------Y Then i...

I hope I won't get chastised for posting here, but a comment on the mock-up NLI: I ran several tests against it, and it's combination of lots of flak and aegis made it extremely hardy (though it's rather weak, offensively). Note: For the most of the ones that were effective, it was very hard to tell...

Yeah, the change would come with regards to speed. Hypothetical: You spend on maneuverability only the amount of points spent on the more maneuverable one. For instance, you spend 20 points on movement for ship A, you could spend 20 free points for movement on ship B, before you'd have to pay for an...

I have something to show you guys. http://img213.imageshack.us/img213/9069/bfscreen06ik7.png 8 ships, of my own design arrayed against a single alien mothership. A few probably violate 100 points slightly, but they're mostly about legal. http://img172.imageshack.us/img172/8595/bfscreen07oi4.png 8 sh...

The more people in a round robin, the better. I think this will be quite exciting. I'm debating whether to implement (starting with the middleweights) some sort of system to prevent people from making just one ship plus a dummy, as that might actually be notably advantageous in the higher weight cla...

One of the most important factors for survivability is flanking AI, so bear that in mind. It's pretty much superior to any other sort of AI, in MOST cases. Edit: Here's a ship meant to distract the enemy, draw fire to itself, but not die. It has lancets for bonuses. http://img59.imageshack.us/img59/...

6 Larva can beat a mothership without one dying (though they take a lot of damage). They do so through eliminating weaponry though, so I guess it's kind of a double standard. 8 just decimate it. If the bruise does pretty well, that might be enough. I'm going to try to build a couple lancetless/railg...

The roles that need to be filled (some already are, but still): Tanks DPSer PD-distractor Support ships (healing/PD) Weapon-killers Frankly, if everyone brings their ships to the point where 8 duplicates can beat a mothership, we'll be in VERY good shape. (of course, this wouldn't apply to support s...

I'm inclined towards the firehawk. The nano is actually pretty nice. The scorpion rockets do good DPS and are great DP distractions, and it's moderately fast and a decent survivor. edit: Everyone, listen up. I just ran a test that against mothership that included all our ships thus far. Simply put, ...

It means a 10 degrees from the core opening. Just place a blaster on the core and give it a 10 degree arc for easy checking. Right, in which case Larva is fine, by the rules. By the way, ASM, I pitted 8 larva against boxy. The result was very sad, for me. Wait, so would adummy section parented to t...
