Yea, I frequently don't even put weapons on my ship, because they break up the sexy hull. It's why I now will put integrated hardpoints. Sometimes I cop out and put invisible lasers or sparkle cannons on top of glows.

I'd say the glows aren't overdone at all. The biggest problem is the white stripes that you seem to have forgotten to apply alpha to. Yea they are. It's the exact same method I used for the Kriken and Ashtic ships, just a different color.

So, as it turns out I have 20/10 vision. That's probably why I get bothered by such tiny details such as small grey lines. Ah well. Enjoy this polished WIP I had from a few months ago!

The wings near the back have a lot of jumbled sections. There isn't much of a cohesion among them.

Uh, I'd recommend that you don't. The shape and composition is quite bland, and wouldn't translate well to BSF. For example, the ship there could be assembled in right about 5 sections. Which is something that is bad.

That's actually quite good. I disagree that it is too dark. Now, it has a nice and clean profile that I'm rather fond of.

In the color pallet on the left you just manually set colors with different shades. There is no science to it

With that ship, it doesn't really look like there's cohesion between the sections. Yea, the outer shape flows, but the internal section work is messy and lacks anything to really look at.

The thing is, there aren't really any flaws in them. But they also lack the masterwork that we have been accustomed to. Honestly, I'd tell you to look around at what people have done and practice practice practice.
Also, I do quite like these ships.

Beautiful as always. Ideally, I'd like to see the profile of the horizontal pieces merge a little more smoothly with the diagonal, but it is only a small complaint and is masked well by the doodads.

Few things. First, don't tile the same section like that. Try to use as many different types and shy away from repeating sections unless you really, REALLY know what you're doing.
