You want homing missiles that are inaccurate? Doesn't work for the reasons you specified. They will always attempt to hit the center of their target. High turning means they will almost always succeed.

I think the easiest method by which this could be implemented is to add a new option to triggers - self-destruct. If you tie a set of sections to something and have that something self destruct, the other sections will fall away. Yes, they may end up hitting the ship and causing damage. However, I s...

Ah, I actually had it sitting in a folder on my desktop. That would certainly explain it. I've got it working now, thanks!

problems importing a gif as a doodad

I'm trying to import this gif as a doodad in SM, and it keeps popping up as a round blue thing, like the core of a ship, when I drag+drop into SM and pick "doodad". I don't know if I'm doing something wrong with SM, or if something is wrong with the gif itself: http://i45.tinypic.com/fopqv...

I'm not sure you're doing it right. 1 FPS = 1 Frame per Second. 5FPS = 5 Frames per Second. 5 FPS is faster than 1 FPS.

There are indeed direct controls for weapons by both keyboard and mouse. Mouse controls weapon direction (cannot be keyboard controlled), and firing can be controlled by mouse clicks or keyboard presses. That's set in the "DC group" setting under ED2 for weapons. EDIT: you can probably bui...

The more crap that's on screen that has to think, IE: weapons, PD, AI controlled ships, and the more pieces there are of each (sprites), the slower things are going to be.

Also, the UAC is pretty useless anyway. Have you ever said "no" to it? ever?

Maybe it was just one day? They're working fine for me now. Nothing I did yesterday could get them to work (restarting browser, which automatically clears my cache, etc.). Weird.

Running on the "admin" account (which is not really the Administrator account, by the way) won't fix it. You'll need to run in Admin mode, which should require authentication. That, or you can disable UAC. Have you tried that? Have you tried starting the game from an Administrator command ...

That's actually what's being done. That was kind of the point of BSF2.
