Criticism? Hmmmm What I think is that the nose area is 'incomplete'. It could either be shortened so that it can flow more with the 'wings' or extended somehow. Personally I would go with shortening it because I think that making the nose longer would break the flow somewhat. Nothing much other than...

DS' SW-style ships

After a small hiatus from shipbuilding, I think it is about time return to the scene. The new SW style of sections running around intrigues me and I decided to have a crack at building a ship with these new pieces. http://i367.photobucket.com/albums/oo118/Darkship/Avalanche.png The result of a short...

The various antenna(?) scattered around the whole ship is just, meh. I personally don't think it does much to help the design, and seems more like a hindrance rather than an enhancement. Also I would like to say that I don't quite like the engine section. It doesn't merge well with the rest of the s...

Allow me to enlighten you before the rest of the forum descends upon this thread and rip you apart. First off you do have one design that might work if you develop the necessary shipbuilding skills (The bumblebee). So in that regard you have come slightly ahead than some newcomers. However that is w...

A piece of advice on how to improve on the 'flow' of a ship is to see which ships seem to fit together seamlessly, as if they were draw with that particular purpose in mind even if that was not intended. To further elaborate on the 90 degrees issue, such right angles generally stick out a lot and de...

Definitely an intriguing ship to say the least, however my first impression upon looking at this massive ship of yours is "Is that really finished?' and "Whats that massive glow under the ship for?" To me the ship itself has a lot going for it yet some of the things have not been capi...

Also something new. http://i367.photobucket.com/albums/oo118/Darkship/NewThing.png Inspired partly by AD's Verdian line of ships and by EriErin's DimensionRipper. Oh Snap! The God has returned to the shipbuilding arena. The fleet is good, not quite up to the complexity of your previous creations though that is not really a problem. You managed to get a fairly original style for the ships, despite the many other configurations that have come up and been used h...

I will have to agree with Kaelis on this this. It is because the level of detail across the whole ship is inconsistent. It should either be all detailed or all not so detailed. I should suggest that you replace the WF sections with some other sections that have more detail. That or you added smaller...

I guess the primary reason why you haven't yet found the sprite is because it is a sprite made myself. I did not upload it earlier because it received very little attention earlier on.

Ill upload it once I gain access my own computer again.

Well those who dislike the stretched front might like this update more. Here I present the Gungnir, A Dreadnought of tremendous power! >:D Its designed differently in that the side wings have been extended to forward to form the nose. What used to be the nose on other ships has been shortened and en...

I think that these kinds of exercises will help new shipbuilders greatly especially if the vets give feedback. however i think it would be better to do these exercises on the forum itself, with each exercise session having its own thread (locked after completion). These threads could then be archive...
