you can access the group arrange window under the tools menu. there you can move, delete(out of the ini) and import many sprites at once to your four sprite groups. after that you can save your new sprite groups as a new 'sprites.ini' only thing you have to do is select the option in the tools menu....

maybe you could post the actual error. I made all my own sprites with ms paint and never run into an issue except that the .png must be lowercase, check that.

I find the shapes of your ships interesting. you use too many weapons for my taste and the colors still feel too bright. hope that helps.

I'm glad you liked it! It needs a thruster module for a chimney it atually has. even two. the first chimney is that one golden section at the height of the "radar" and the sectond is hidden on the opposite side. it's on a extractable wing that moves out when enemies are in range and shoots...

you could make a weapon that shoots asteroid sprites, or debris sprites
or you could also simply use the grav beam.

you know. it also works to simply mod missile trowers with your own sprites and give them a launch ark of 40 degrees or so. set the turning speed to 0 and anything else as wished. makes for pretty nice fixed weapons!
