We could always set a trap ... I figure a thread containing a much disputed, but impossible to determine, topic will attract people like flies. Then all we need to do is see how many people actually argue, how many quote and how many try to suck up to whomever they can. Maybe something about video g...

Normandy, wouldn't the winning team just send players over to the loosers ? From my experience, people want to have fun unless they're competing for something. In this case, they'd try to balance to bring up the opposing skill level. And trying to make the playing field level for everyone makes no o...

Age doesn't account for everything, but you can't deny the fact that China is still strong economy-wise. So it's possible for the newbies to pull ahead (as is in MMOGs), but less likely. You could correct the time requirement with the 'pure skill' route as opposed to 'practice'. Let me explain : in ...

Second Life. Solved :D. But to specify; you mean MMOGs that are geared towards PvP combat ? Well of course old players are going to kick the asses of all of the newbies - unless you want something horribly unrealistic, the big guys in real life dominate over the small fries, be it via war or busines...

SB files are 'Ship Builder' files - the editible versions of SHPs, which Battleships Forever plays. Every few versions, the writer of this game (th15) adds a bunch of new features to the format ... which breaks the format for older games. Thus, SB3 is completely incompatible with SB2, with SB1. Ther...

I'm not well learned in the ways of computer engineering, but I can use Google - so that helps :). First of all, a quick search said that the Tunnel adapters somehow related to IPv6 which is only supported Vista by default. I think that explains it. Second, the IP that you listed as being the source...

SHP files are generaly >15kb. A reasonably sized, JPEG wallpaper is in the area of 180 :D. It'll load pretty damn fast.

But then again, it'd be far more efficient to embed a ZIP or 7z into it then extract. Far less work, that way.

Can we make contractors/mercenaries ? It's a fair bit easier than adapting characters to ranks :).

Medic !

The Paix http://i204.photobucket.com/albums/bb277/Raithah/Paix.png This is a test. Specifically, a test of a 'chaff' gun I developped (you can see another interpretation of it in the flare thread) - but sticking it onto an empty hull didn't feel right, so I decided to make a ship. Then came the nan...

It sounds too good to be true, but BOXstr seems to be legit. It has hotlinking, 5gbs of space and 800 mb/month bandwidth :D.

Yeah, I had a webcomic-style publishing system in mind.

And does anyone know how extensible WordPress is ? I mean, could I get it to look more like a comic front page than a blog ?

'One heck' means it's very good :). 'Can't wait to see what the entire thing will read like.

Going off-topic a little, has anyone ever heard of a web-serial ? I've been considering starting one, so if you have any opinions or experience on the matter I'd love to hear it.

Your suggestion is so good I already implemented it :).

Here's a question for anyone who read the prompt - did it make sense ? Did anything baffle you, e.g. words, conventions, etc. ?
