(good god this is looking less pirate-y every day) *cough* Anyways, the new design is up. If anyone actually been downloading, you may have noticed that the ships have been becoming increasingly nerfed. The reason for this is to try to bring the design aspect back into my ship building - if it's bui...

It's a doi question, but I've got to ask : will you update the ship database to hold the new file type ? (and can there be a vote on the name :D) Edit: So what you're saying is that we'll need to find alternate hosting sites for the encounter files, which are basicaly archives of scripts and SHP fil...

Aww, but it's hard to write for females ! They have all that 'feelings' stuff you need to write in. And if you do make them tough, strange PMs start floating into your inbox about possible ... actions the character should take with other characters. Altogether, writing for women when you're a dude i...

Okay, explain to me again : why wouldn't they fight at those distances ? You just said that, in WW2, the artillery would have to travel a couple seconds before impact. Rail guns moving at a good fraction of C are not going to take a couple seconds to impact from a couple miles away ! Your target nee...

Yes, but we're talking about ships that pass through the depths of space . Those are incredibly long distances to pass as slow as battleships. Unless your bullets become larger, as a consequence you've got to hit a rather large target that's real far away and moving at a significant clip. Seconds me...

I think we're talking about ranges sufficient to aim conventional weaponry with fair accuracy, but that maneuvering still has appreciable benefits. But at light-second ranges, ship orientation means even more. Think about it : the further you are, the more accuracy means to your weapons. If you pres...
