I worked for 1 hour right now and I finished a gif that look pretty nice for explosions, is it really impossible to change them ? :/

Hey, I played this game for a long time before registering on the forum (around 1 year) and I would like to know if it was possible to change the .gif of the explosions, I tryed to do this with photoshop that allows the user to edit a .gif but when I save the explosion, it doesn't keep all the layer...
