They don't look that bad, actually. The only problems that I can see with them would be the backs of the second and third ships.
The second one just kinda looks boring at the back, and the bit of yellow really doesn't match the rest of the third ship.
other than that, I think they're pretty good.

Well, I'd prefer to leave the core at least a little bit exposed, so it'll be possible for the ship to be destroyed. And I've seen people using different sprites for the core. The sections (sprites) can be destroyed, so you don't need to worry about that - weapon fire = damage, damage = no more sec...

Yeah, maybe, but so far it's just changes to existing ships. The weapons are the same, weapon placement is the same, they're just built differently to look better and I thought a different story would go better with the designs I had in mind. correct way to get things to orbit in KSP

step 1: make a satellite body
step 2: decoupler
step 3: add rockets
step 4: test

If step 4 is unsuccessful, repeat from step 2 until orbit is achieved
