Re: Biggums425's Gethlock ships

Overall the shapes are quite nice, and would be great rendered in SW-style.
However the amount and placement of weapons on the ships make no sense, especially those railguns.

Re: Questions and Answers

What equation does the Armour mechanic use to determine damage? Will we be able to alter the minimum damage for bullets in Shipmaker?

Re: The Spore Game -- species A

You uncover an air pocket in the rock. the bubbles of air float to the roof of your nest, and stay there. Actually, the gasses contained feel interesting. And the pocket they were trapped in is lined with some sort of yellow substance. a powdery substance. That seems to be giving off more gas. Inve...

Re: Gene Pool - Genetic Standoff

The annoying part for me is getting the phases right on long-armed squids so their motion stays smooth. Whenever I get a decent one it goes into a fit 2 minutes later, stops and does nothing or start going backwards.

Attempt to bite him while staying away from his slime blaster. If he heads towards a wall make sure he can't get his back up against it, you do not want a ranged attacker to constrict the directions you can attack him from. Attempting to hunt these guys to extinction sounds like a great way to force...

Re: The Spore Game -- species A

Grow teeth, Thicken Membrane, Produce Slime, Grow Eye 4+2+5+4=15 Produce slime could be quite useful if we are going to make a nest if it can be rubbed into/onto things, if not I vote for this: Grow Eye, Depth Perception, Flagellum, Teeth, Thick Membrane 4 + 4 + 4 + 4 + 2 = 18 Can we chew something ...

Re: Shifter55's various ships

The front doesn't look complete. Front seems unfinished. Yeah I've been noticing that trend in my meta ships, The design technique I'm using tends to not mesh with Kae_gnr sections very well so I'll probably end up making sprites designed for this purpose. The jagged noses look nice on smaller ship...

Re: Nanz update

These. Are. Fething. Awesome. Every time I look at these I want to start using Shn sections and take apart BSF.exe to give the more obscure alien weapons a look that gives them justice. Also you may want to check the Sidewinders on the Dreadnought and Frigate, they have not been flipped properly.

Shifter55's various ships [Updated 5/2/11]

Thought I might post a few ships on here to see what everyone thinks of them. Test Destroyer http://i1232.photobucket.com/albums/ff367/shifter555/SMscreen02.png Something that I built to test the effectiveness of section overlays in simplifying the amount of colours used on a ship, the entire ship u...

Re: launching problem

2) Did you put your laptop into sleep/hibernate/power-saving-type modes before restarting? I know BSF has a history of not getting along with those. I've had my laptop in sleep mode with BSF running and its worked fine and started up correctly afterwards. 1) That's not how programs work. :? Sometim...

Re: Spaceship Design Rules v3.16

Currently Missile Launchers seem to be horrible weapons compared to HMAs in terms of cost effectiveness as seen by their DPS and Peak Damage Output: Missile Launcher 650m 50e DPS: 9.13 PDO: 70 Heavy Missile Array 980m 90e DPS: 22.64 PDO: 240 As you can see you need three MLs to get the same damage a...

Re: launching problem

are you an administrator? if you aren't vista and 7 will block BSF's access to it's own programme files which messes it up. just install somewhere where you have access such as your documents folder and it should run For some reason this error wasn't fixed by this method, anyone know any details as...
