Is there any way to give the ship core a custom sprite?

That'd be great, because I have a bunch of old ships I made before I downloaded the new version of BS...

Wel, I mean something like making my own weapon sprite and animations and make it shoot the way I want to and such, and assign it a custom bullet sprite too. Would that be possible?

I really wanna learn whatever code I need to learn so I can try making my own personal weapons and such, and I know I can't learn coding from plain experience, because I don't know where to start gaining experience. Any tips would be nice!

I would try this out, but after looking at ships built by other people, I don't think I'm even qualified to try. My ships are WAY too abstract, which I know now is boring and dull.
