The HM stone ships are repetitive and lacking detail or depth. Mass may have some potential, but at the moment it is jumbled, and will need a fair bit of tweaking. Can't really comment on the bioships as I just don't like that section style. Keep at it! EDIT: Almost forgot, you might not be able to ...

Agree with LAG completely. Those Tyrian weps work better with shn than sw, you're probably better off using HM detailed or realistic with sw. Also Svn sw weps (if you can find them).

Well, if the website in question lets you download images without asking for a fee I doubt you'll get into trouble using said image as a backdrop. Fleet exercises over Jupiter anyone?

Yeah, saves much time, that. Don't forget you can save custom colours too, which saves you having to memorise rgb values etc.

Not as far as I'm aware. If you're more comfortable drawing by hand than fiddling with a mouse and a paint program, go for it. Just remember to use the sprite naming conventions if you're going to upload your sprites.

TSA_GF seem to work well enough with shn, also Fraxy Sprites to a certain degree. I like the DST_ori as well, 'cos I'm a lazy git and they're already coloured.
