The only thing is your figures are convincing, but in respect to actually being for the metagame, i.e. yes you could have a bigger/another engine, but would it fit on the ship? I may be wrong but the assists equate to the likes of extra manuevering thrusters or like a nitro boost, things that wouldn...

Yeah, it's not that bad, it's just it doesn't like it sometimes when you mirror a depthed weapon. To be on the safe side always mirror weapons then depth. And on the ships. Damned impressive work for a first timer, all nicely thought through ships, with good section work to match :)

Oh the protection is definately necessary, since a friend of mine showed me that the average american football tackle hits with over twice the force of the average rugby tackle, i was like

To be honest you can't really compare american football to proper football, rugby and american football would show it much better, i mean neither typs of football have 'blood replacements' i.e. a substitute that's on only until they can stop you bleeding too much lol

A carrier i made today. http://i809.photobucket.com/albums/zz13/Rugdumph/SMscreen095.png The pink glows at the front is more for showing that there are a pair of megabeams there. Has the green engine/coolant doodads as on the smaller ship. The extra side thrusters are all 360 driven so to appear lik...

Right, just a few random ships i've made. http://i809.photobucket.com/albums/zz13/Rugdumph/SMscreen085.png A little gunboat, of which the central green section is driven, with the main gun and side engines parented to it. http://i809.photobucket.com/albums/zz13/Rugdumph/SMscreen086.png Frigaty thing...

Hold shift and use the mouse, or hold shift and use the arrow keys, that does the trick.

well put all the colour bars to the right hand side and it'll all go white/grayscale. if you put them at exactly what ima showed then yeah it'll look fairly dark, especially since many SW sections are darker anyway cause of the shading.

Hmm i think you're right, since if i add more sections outwards, the circle forms perfectly, but deleting them again just causes the previous problem to return. Oh well it's all the fun of ship building though isn't it?

Something weird with the size circle

I've just noticed whilst peacefully building away, that the circle that dictates the size (and hence threat etc for any metagamers) was at nearest, still a good 20 pixels away from any part of the ship, like so... http://i809.photobucket.com/albums/zz13/Rugdumph/SMscreen084.png I can't think of any ...

Well still on the centre line i mean, just not necessarily smack bang half way between the front and back of the ship.

Hmm, so to get the 'actual' size of an off-centred-core ship, would it be advised to say, move the core either forwards or backwards or whatever, until you have the smallest possible radius for that ship shape and record it and balance using that size, then reposition the core after. Or are off cent...
