To be honest, you just explained it there.

I'll give it a go, going on the knowledge i already have:

1. Colour the damn thing grey, all of it.
2. Colour the sections lower down darker, and the higher ones lighter?
3. Pick critical areas of the ship to colour with a proper colour?

Sound alright?

Is there any chance of a preview before i download them?

I've had a huge break from BSF, but i'm getting back into it now and i'm trying to improve on my ship building techniques, i remember that i had problems with colouring and depthing (not construction wise, shading wise), are there any guides out there that could help me? I'm not a total moron, i don...

What colours would you suggest?

Aren't all ships made out of of seeming "Random" pieces? (doesn't really help me out here mate)

What would you suggest for the venom "paws"? i had quite a bit of trouble making the legs on that one.

I don't like them new sprites... I think they ruin the "Retro" feel of the game so i not planning on using them at all.
