Ta for pointing out the mirroring error, I'll fix it when I next take a look at the ship. I agree that the core is very exposed, was thinking about bringing the pods together infront of the core... I'd like to leave it open at the back though as a tactical thing. As to repeditive grey sections, I mi...

Kinda odd to have a whole lot of high detail sections, and then the big low detail plates on either side...

No, the issue is that the colour you have chosen is too powerful, and that your liberal use of it magnifies the problem. Ahh, I see what you mean now (I tend think of eye-watering in terms of luminosity rather than saturation). Here's another try for colour, the spines were left fully saturated on ...

By eyeburn-ish do you mean that it's too bright, or that there's too much of it, or that it doesn't sit well with the grey? It doesn't look too bad to me, but others don't like it much either...

Any suggestions as to where to put engines, armaments, whether to put in a reactor, adjustments to colouring etc? (Still haven't thought of a good name for it).

<insert name of big circular ship here>

Hokay, here's my new ship, as it is at present. http://i820.photobucket.com/albums/zz124/thetheloniouspunk/battleship.jpg Not too sure where to go from here, thinking about armaments, generator etc... any ideas for development, or suggestions to improve it before I start plunking stuff on? (As befor...

I'd add that when mirroring a ship that uses triggers you need to set the trigger(s) again for the mirrored components, and that when putting custom sections into the ship editor, the file extension *has* to be in lower case. Paint always saves png files as .PNG and I have to rename the file afterwa...

Think of it this way, do you put the armor inside the ship or on the outside? But surely the outside of the ship would encompass the entire visible body of the ship in BSF - space being three-dimensional and all :P Seriously though, Commodore111 does make a fair point - when you place a piece, ask ...

I quite like it :-) the only odd bit to my eye is the use of two spindly bits at the back - surely one would fit in more naturally? I think if you took the outside pair away (behind the engines that is - the other ones are fine) and moved the inside pair away from each other slightly the whole ship ...

I would stay away from point defense on very small ships as it gets kinda silly when you have 10 ships dogfighting which can't actually kill each other due to their weapons being neutralized  - at the very least don't use more than one per fighter. You should also try and get rid of some of th...

...no real identifiable details other than a reactor... Identifiable details? I wouldn't use that as criteria for judging a ship - I can see the attraction of having comm arrays, docking stations and the like, but to criticise their absence seems kinda picky... silly even? That said, a big chunky e...

The shape is good and I like the orange highlights, although the reactor could do with some work - the white outline made by the circle section looks nasty to me. Perhaps you could break up that outline by putting a couple of overlayed sections in? Some more colour around the reactor (maybe some mor...
