1. you can't really necro a sticky as far as i'm aware.

2. your assumption is wrong. use a small civilian core with a custom section over it.

"no" background- make a square, all black .bmp image, open shipmaker and use the tools menu to set it as your background.

inverse colors - take a screenshot, open it in any image editor ever created and press ctrl+I.

it can look better, but generally less detailed sections look better inverted and detailed look better normal.

The Vanis, Iyuli, and Quevil have a ridiculous amount of section repitition. atleast add some other sections ontop of it, although i'd reccomend exchanging the repeated sections for other somewhat similar ones in a sequence.

i don't like the way the side bits are sread open so wide. it opens up the parts holding on the front, rather than adding protection(unless of course you plan to fight with the ship facing backwards). and i also don't care much for the way the core looks.

it's just my opinion, but i think you should trash the spindly things, or atleast make them shorter and fatter. i don't care for the colors, but it still looks good.

edit: aslo, i think the engine would look better if it were close to the rest of the ship.

pretty decent. there's a mirroring error in the front though. (there are sections overlapping due to mirroring)

my only criticism is that it seems like you keep trying to copy other people's ships. get your own style.

just a suggestion, i think you could put a low-strength glow on the inner two spindly things at the rear.

i can't say i like it. fake aegis should be used as an accent, not as the main body of a ship, imo.

I'm sorry i haven't been doing much of these lately. I'll do some today. like maarten said, i really want them to be usable just like the stock sections, so i limited myself to using only 5 different shades of grey. i can't get much of a 3-d effect with 5 colors, but it still has more depth to it th...

big ship is big. take a picture of it near a sun so we can see the dang thing? it's big and impressive and all that but it's just too dark. edit: ehh sorry about me being an idiot and saying it was too dark. i was viewing from way too far back and so i saw almost no contrast between detail and secti...
