Re: I return too.
I don't understand why everyone has to bring up that the core is visible and core = bad. Does the core actually look ugly to you, or are you just mentioning it because it's there?

Re: Randoms spacecraft
I think the Dst_ori sprites work best when they're darkened/colored or as a form of substructure, e.g. what I did here (Not to plug, it's just relevant). In my case I think I may have darkened them a bit too much, but I think a medium gray shading would help with the clutteredness. You should also t...

Re: Previous versions of BSF
I'd actually like to play some of the older versions too, to see how BSF has changed since its inception and which versions were recognized by the gaming companies, etc. Also I have a ship in SB2 format that I can't open with my version of ShipMaker. It would be nice if perhaps someone could create ...

Re: I return too.
The design is basically inspired by this animal: http://www.sciencedaily.com/images/2008/04/080402145746-large.jpg ...which is called, unsurprisingly, a rotifer. They are small aquatic animals and the only group of animals with two mouths. Their name means "wheel bearer," the animal being ...

I return too.
I tried to resist the peer pressure, but sooner or later I inevitably had to jump onto the SW bandwagon. So I made a couple ships and was sure to include lots of trippy glow effects to make all of you think it's pretty. Rotifer - yet another giant capital ship, only this time with SW sprites. And no...

The encounter maker seems to work fine for me, except that if you die before a wave is finished, and you have ships queued for the next wave, the game doesn't end and you just have to watch the enemies mill around aimlessly for eternity or quit. But other than that I haven't had any problems. What a...
