As usual, amazing stuff. Simply amazing. You say youve made a section pack, but is this all really sections? Or did you take a screenshot from shipmaker and 'pixelarted' all over it? I mean, its hard to believe, its that good. Dude! That would be cheating. And besides, what would be the point of pi...

Dudes, would love to be around more often and help out with whatnot but the every 4 months thing should tell you that I'm not over-blessed with time. If it helps just think of me like a mate who is travelling abroad and who shows up unexpectedly from time to time bearing oddly shaped gifts. Re the c...

Hello, I'm back. I figured you might like an update. Yeah I know it's been almost 4 solstan months but what're ya gonna do? That, as they say, is how I roll. The Ikaru/Ishtar Section Pack is pretty much done, I have a 'release candidate' anyway. I've made a couple of ships too, with a further one in...

Re: First Ships

Hi I'm new to this game... First off, the Wasp http://s652.photobucket.com/albums/uu248/Hudds/action=view&current=BFscreen01.jpg Pickle, it might work better if you removed the action=view&current= from your links e.g.: [img]http://s652.photobucket.com/albums/uu248/Hudds/BFscreen01.jpg[/img...

Well. Failed?! Yup. I really struggled with the two bigger ones. I don't know if other people can build this way but if I don't design everything out first I tend lose my way. "Open SM, spam on" just doesn't work for me. so i herd u liek faux aegis? Call it Aegiphilia. This is me testing m...

Ah!

So you will be able to find use for these sections then?
I wasn't sure tbh. I am sort of losing my will to BSF.

I've been working on the sections... FINAL UPDATE

First off, a big props to all the guys who contributed to the new SM version(s). I was just getting used to the old version when you dropped that particular near-c planet buster. Not that I'm complaining. I've been working on custom sections. The pack isn't ready for release yet, but I've slapped to...

Droid, I have nothing constructive to say but those are fricking awesome.

Only, the destroyer doesn't seem that much smaller than the cruiser.

And I agree, but in my opinion only I think the large round centre draws the eye too much now. Personally I would extend and taper the rear, narrow the main body and cinch the wings closer in. Perhaps even rotate them futher forward and add small auxilliary winglets behind them sweeping back. Then a...

I like the organic spikiness of it, like an extremely magnified ant or something. But now you've chopped the rear off the centre looks too round and bulbous for me and the wings perhaps too far flung.

Mate, the Jade Martyr is the dogs.

Still not keen on the fore section but overall - my hat's off. I'm taking a picture away to my lurking lair for further study.

That's a really nice solid design, unspectacular but in good way.

I particularly like the central spine of the ship. I actually like the ship in the 2nd post too, very hard sci-fi functional.

Ok, I've re-jigged the Revenant so that it's slightly thinner and slightly longer (OP updated).

Not sure myself, although it doesn't look significantly different it does have a more rangey feel that I'm not convinced I prefer.

Anyway have a look and let me know if it sucks the big one.

Thanks for the comments guys, in the Revenant's defence I will say that it was the very first design I did, and is in fact the forerunner from which all the other Necrid designs spawned. The rationale for it's more brutalist shape is that the Revenant is supposed to be a real pit-fighter of a ship, ...
