So I take this to mean that a vessel colliding with another vessel DOES do damage? Most of the time when I play, trying to make thing run into each other just leads them to go over or under the other ship. The exception being huge stuff like the leviathan.

I was thinking of a frigate or cruiser-sized vessel that exists soley to be a shield generator. It has a few point defense guns, but other than that it's a huge shield projector.
