The Panzerschreck's Oldschool Battleship turrets

I have made some old school Battleship turrets, and for 1 i made a special gun, to make it look a bit better. So far i have only 3 turrets, but there may come more if you guys like them. Turret 1&2 are inspired on US WWII triple 16" guns. Turret 3 is inspired on the Bismarck's main guns. Bo...

why is that inconvenient? just make a small section underneeth the driven section, and parent the weapons to those. should do the trick :)

OK, last update before i will go on a skiing trip to France. So at least one and a half week without my PC. http://img72.imageshack.us/img72/104/mfwipkf6.png I added its cockpit and the corridor leading to it, and a part of the front section. Please comment mainly on the cockpit, since it has taken ...

mmm... It's a bit fat yes. Whay looks pretty ugly on them, are the streched sections. As you can see they blur out when you stretcht them. I suggest replacing those with multiple sections, since it doesn't look nice.

And what are those 2 aegissed sections in the middle? They look out of place.

If they are bound by only a single aegis generator, i would imagine them to "float" in space a bit, be dynamic. In BSF that is not possible (yet?). So making sections that would be dynamic and also absorb damage (what would make them move by normal physics => action=reaction) in normal spa...

I do understand why you made the floating sections. It just doesn't look nice in my opinion. Those shields are WAY larger then your actual ship. It is no problem to use white in your ships, but use them to make certain parts stand out. It won't work to make it look silverish. At least you did the pa...

It does. The shape OK but those floating sections... Have you even looked in 1 topic of the custom ships before you posted it? Aegis spam + Floating sections = Big Fail. Also, add some color. 2 or 3 blue doodads won't make a good color scheme. I give you the advise to lurk some more.

Working on another fan ship has commenced: The Millennium Falcon. It is still much of a W.I.P., but I just wanted to know if I'm going in the right heading. C&C please (as far as possible) http://i42.tinypic.com/25iunaq.png That blue part behind the tail are the engines. I haven't decided whethe...

I'd prefer a scatter beam for that, with deviation=0, low damage and a very short beam duration. It gives a nice effect for an anti-fighter laser beam. You could also just hide those under your normal guns, and make them so small you can barely see them. Make sure to give your scatter beam a bit les...

Yep.. holes! Maybe those at the rear are supposed to be there, but here are some that don't: http://img211.imageshack.us/img211/5589/naamlooszy3.jpg Those 2 dark areas are just the holes from the section. Easy to fix with the same section under it, but then 3 or 4 pixels moved forward. The other one...

There. Take a color directly besides your pink, or one opposite of it. Generally it will be a good match.

Pretty solid ships for your first try by the way! :)
