Try something darker and make them slightly transparent. Right now they're far from looking like cockpits. Done, the modified vessels are denoted with an 'A' suffix, displayed under the original version for comparison. They're not bad, but I sort of dislike the fact that most of your ships are copy...

Those light blue pieces were meant to be bubble cockpits.

I think the uneven positioning of the discs is intentional, it can be said that the discs are autonomous and are equipped with Inertia-less engines, ala the Alioru(Spelling) Skiffs in Star Control II.

Well, actually the fighters were the last ships to be put together. I saw several parts that had potential when browsing the custom sprites folder and developed from them.

It could be explained that the CV line is another style of ships.

Coloring does not matter as long as it looks good, there are no such thing as copyright here.

The Dreadnought looks much better now, though I think the front gun section could use some curves, you see, the straight, angled shape of the front is in conflict with the smoothed rear.

I had promoted the fighters to Corvettes, hopefully this can solve the problem.
