Another minor bug: Plasma ball cannon, particle cannon and particle rifle shots are not targeted by point defences, but do get destroyed by flak explosions. Though maybe i just don't remember and the bug is old... wasnt it the same with railgun shots? Also, when section or weapon's X or Y position i...

Noob guide for linking

Its pretty sad that theres still completely no explanation of how linking and triggering systems currently work. Triggers are heavily bugged at the moment though, so i'll leave that for later and probably let someone else do that. Linking. So first thing you need to do is select a weapon, click with...

Ooh, looks like i decided to check out the BSF forums just in the best possible time. Now you can see every weapon's default stats instead of the stupid "default"! Hooray! I will probably even get back to trying to design the ultimate ship price calculation system I was developing a long t...

I didn't say anything about making them look like their character :p just said their abilities and strengths...without making them uber. Meh, thats actually sad. Cuz now if someone comes up with an idea of making touhou ships, he will prolly find out that his idea was already taken and give up. I t...

The ship design doesn't remind me of Flan in any possible way. Add flandre-style wings behind it, color it properly, give modded weapons that shoot danmaku and it will do. Coloring is the most important there, probably. Have you find out about the game from the recent thread in /jp/? I clearly remem...

As you probably know, im currently developing a ruleset to measure any ships price, which would take in mind as much parameters as possible, allowing to make a tournament with incredibly flexible (though complex) rules. The main prublem im currently stuck at is lack of default parameters for most of...

However, this ruleset sacrifices simplicity, and probably dumps balance as well unless you're prepared to spend ages tuning it. Even the current rulesets, which are much simpler and easier to tune, are being fine-tuned in terms of balance. Developing the current rulesets has been an iterative proce...

~Glorious Hood's Gatling Particle Guns were too accurate compared to the original for my liking. I changed deviation from 3 degrees to 5 degrees. As a result, the shots will spread out a bit more. I lost the original file, so I can't see what the real deviation is: A player note would be helpful. G...

Making a new shipmaker program couldn't be that hard, all you have to do is make a text file with .shp at the end, then make the shipmaker read the ship's stats from the .shp instead of another format. Umm, do you know how does the code in .shp and .sb3 works? I tried opening em with a notepad but ...

Honestly, whilst I'm of the opinion that a tournament ruleset should eventually be devised which is perfectly balanced and upon which everyone can agree, I don't think it can be achieved by increasing complexity quite this much. The fewer rules, the better - that is, the less complicated the rulese...

Re: Shipbuilding ruleset. Complex, but maximum freedom.

Why yes, I did. Look - it states right here (see quote) that he desires a way to turn the free build off. If that isn't tantamount to inserting rules to the shipmaker, I don't know what is. i wish there was a way to turn that "free build" mode off and make some limits to ship's power, whi...

Also this propably should have gone in the wishlist thread. meh, i thought my post would be too large for that thread... It is in the wrong forum. ah, right... i was thinking if it should go in shipbuilding or in tournaments section, and prolly misclicked when finally decided to post it. Shall i de...

Shipbuilding ruleset. Complex, but maximum freedom.

First of all i'd like to greet everybody on this forum. I've downloaded the game only a few weeks ago and really loved the game's ship designing feature. I know no other game where you could design your ship completely from scratch - not only the loadout, but the very shape of it. Though after a few...
