I think what he meant was that if a rotational section is to rotate clockwise why is there a need to have a CCW Rot Speed, and that's not self explanatory.

I am sure this will be explained when the guide comes out.

The section in the following file shows an example. The bottom most floating section cannot have its layer depth decreased: If it's the bottom section why would you want to lower it more? <.< No, I meant the section I isolated in the ship maker so that the person looking at the file knows which I a...

The sprites are .png files. They're the Tyrian projectile pack, ripped by CheesyErwin. As for making the file extensions lower case, I don't know how you would do that. Just at ".png" to the end of the file name? Go to view in any explorer folder windows -> Folder Options untick "Hid...

But be careful, for some reason it sometimes undoes several actions all at once, which can hurt a lot. :( I have already mentioned that as a bug. Hope they will fix that, and maybe introduce multilayer undos. Even MS paint support 3 undos. That one's been there for ages. Near as I can tell, it can'...

'To the op:

I've been trying to do this.
How do you actually use trigger to initiate the opening sequence and initiate the closing sequence? What's the difference between trigger on and trigger off?

Saving a sb4 file while having sections hidden may lead to irreversible hiding of the sections. For those who want to get their hidden section back, you can manually edit sb4 file with notepad, find the lines with 2nd number after 1st comma to be negative, add 7000 to the negative number to update t...

Is there a way to make your own formations, like the Peitho Deflector formation seen in level 8? Well, you could build a ship that looks like a group of ships... I tried the idea of cloning a mini fighter into many to mimic a formation, it doesn't look nice because of the way they move and turn as ...

...It just gets a bit frustrating how i can run Crysis on Very High and theres almost never lag and how i run battleships forever horribly isnt that ironic? Indeed, but again - theres nothing we can do about it. Low performance is an inherent GameMaker flaw, not poor coding of BSF. Oh I didn't know...

Performance: I noticed that the use of mining laser to create a flare effect with 'burst' and 360 'initial deviation' has major performance impact depending the number set in 'burst'. For me frame rate dropped by half from using 8 instead of 4. Not sure if this is a correctable bug or implementation...

I have been trying the new features extensively. I'd say you should wait till a bug fixed version to come out before trying the new features or you'd scratch your head to bleed.

The new features are great but writing a guide currently is not possible due to instability or crashes.

A complex stack but correctly targeted and parented ageis shield in the following sb4 file and showed correctly in ship builder somehow gets retargeted to a rear section in actual game. The same stack configuration had been used in older versions without problem. The aegis is hidden within the very ...
