I suppose you could have a 1-HP core and use a trigger to move it to the front of the ship for easy destruction (or the ship back around the core, one way or the other).

That ship looks very familiar . But bad. In honesty, it's not terrible, but there's a lot of space for improvement. Primarily, there's some repetition, and a fair amount of sections that just don't connect very well. Blue/yellow/grey can work quite well, but the version's you've picked are too muted...

Well done, sir! Are we going to see retractable flight pods on your rendition?

It's actually fairly simple - a Tachyon layered with a Railgun. EriErin's original rendition (it's in the advanced weapons thread) had a blaster as well, but I found it didn't add anything to the aesthetics.

Thanks for the comments!

it looks like the ass end of the ship is arbitrarily extended. You even have the same shape as the tail further up a bit, with contrary lines between the too. I'd cut the tail section out and staple the engines to the center piece with the same shape. Really? The engine wings were just a bolt-on af...

Groovy. Out of curiosity, where'd you get that image of the species?

To be honest, the idea of using it as an armour layer never really occurred to me. The finished product will almost certainly be a broadsider, simply due to the shape of the hull.

Default zoom, as requested (I also did a couple of tweaks, shrinking the runes and hiding the tug core (EDIT - no I didn't, wrong screenshot) (EDIT 2 - okay, 'ere we go)): http://i30.photobucket.com/albums/c348/DraTuicichNovae/KarrisKaanaUnzoomed2.png Also, a quick draft for a new nose: http://i30.p...

I just noticed the prolific twin autocannon spam on the first ship. GNEH!

On the second... I really liked the blue/turquoise scheme, it was just the green that killed it. Using another tone in it's place with the original colours would look nifty.

Ohh, pretty. I'm not totally sold on the "station = ship" or "double-ended ship" idea, but the shapes are nice nonetheless.

One gripe is the blue used for the central axis - it divides up the hull, not necessarily in a nice manner.

Interesting. I like the overall shape, but there seem to be a few too many engines. Perhaps fewer, larger engines rather than many small ones? Wasn't sure about those; I'll play around and see how it looks. Also, the tug core sprite looks out of place. Noticed that after posting; it was supposed to...

The light green on both ships has to go, stat. With that fixed, the first will look passable, and the second will look pretty nifty.

Pretty solid on all fronts - if you changed up the rear end of the carrier, it'd be a fine ship. Those nose is great, it's just chop-shopped onto an existing rear hull.
