Just a place where I can access my designation system anywhere. Posted here for people to look.
Which means I have to redesignate all my ships. AGAIN.

'Battleship' and 'Dreadnought' are designations referring to Earth ships of the line and the 1905 ship 'HMS Dreadnought', respectively. What if Dreadnought never existed? 'Monitor' was originally the designation for an armoured riverine vessel carrying large weapons. I think it sounds better than 'Dreadnought', mostly because 'Dreadnought' is an overused term.

Corvettes kinda suck because frigates and up pop them too easily. Battleship/Battlecruiser is an arbitrary/overused designation in my opinion. XD;

Battlecruiser is designated as "fast cruiser" or "schnell cruiser" on Aralonia. Battlecruiser originally as an earth vessel was a battleship sized hull with battleship guns and cruiser armour and high speed, superseded by improved hullforms which led to the fast battleship (HMS Hood --> USS Iowa evolution)

A Monitor was origionaly a vessel that had had it's main guns and a mast removed and replaced with heavy siege weapons (Mortors).Aralonia wrote:'Battleship' and 'Dreadnought' are designations referring to Earth ships of the line and the 1905 ship 'HMS Dreadnought', respectively. The last 25% can now feel smug because everyone else has taken orders from a little sig box.
