Downloading And Making It Work

Post by Wizardunic »

I allready know how to do most things in BSF, but what I can't figure out is how to make the turrets work.

I choose a sprite:

Mind telling me how to do this? And go easy, I don't know much about working with stuff like this.[/img]

YOU'RE DOING IT WRONG

The turrets are meant to be used as sections. You use one weapon to drive them, and then attach 2 or 4 weapons which are linked to the driver to shoot stuff. It's not that hard to grasp as a concept.

And as a hint, if in doubt, read the documentation first.

What you need

Image
Make the section into a turret section by having it driven by a weapon

Image
Select section, right click on weapon.

Image
Orange arrow indicates which section a weapon is driving.

Image
Now for the barrels of this turret.

Image
Select slave weapon, right click on master weapon.

Image
Repeat for each barrel on your turret

Image
Position the barrels on the turret section, then move the turret section into your desired location. Make note of its coordinates.

Image
Copy these coordinates to the master weapon to ensure accurate rotation and targeting. Set the Alpha on the weapon to 0 to make invisible and set the Shooting (found in ED2 tab) to disabled (or set Burst to 0) so the weapon will never fire a projectile.

Image
Amazing.
Realism, seriously? It's a space ship game. Realism was thrown out the window a long time ago.

Looks like your having the same problem as in this thread.

Nice turret. Matching colors would be better to make it look like one whole sprite.
Then again it is just a test ship so its not so important for the moment. lol
