Whilst each Battleship is unique, they all follow the same basic hull design, albeit each has it's own modifications to that design for the function it serves, such as the "borehole" in the GCBS Protector that acts as a firing trench for it's spinal magnetic accelerator.
Known ships;
GCBS SENTINEL
Commanding Officer: Terran Alliance Navy Captain James Anderson
Executive Officer: Str'eck Combine Navy Overseer, Third Grade Wor'ech'dar

Boasting the most range of all Council Battleships, the Sentinel is often sighted in the border systems patrolling systems where piracy has been high. Suffice to say, when the Sentinel arrives, piracy rates suddenly and drastically decrease.
Sentinel is a formidable combatant, but is definitely not the strongest in the armada. It frequently carries interceptor and fighter squadrons, though it rarely has bombers on board; the main guns are more than enough to deal with pirate installations should any be found.
The GCBS Sentinel uses a considerable number of high-explosive missile turrets, although it has plenty of non-missile weapons to ensure that it's not totally defenseless between volleys. The centerpiece of the Sentinel's loadout is a Thunderbolt Particle Cannon Turret. Whilst not as powerful as fixed Thunderbolt Particle Cannons, the turret has 360 coverage, allowing it to dish out hurt to any enemy within it's reach.
GCBS PROTECTOR
Commanding Officer: Str'eck Combine Navy Overlord Har'tas'ech
Executive Officer: Chiana Coalition Second Lieutenant Ardista Malloy
Restricted mostly to the inner ring due to it's low maximum speed, even with FTL travel, Protector is generally regarded as the first line of defense against any fleet attempting to attack any of the Council races. With a massive spinal magnetic acceleration cannon taking up around half of the ship's length, the Protector can deal incredible damage to any foe it faces; it can skewer and kill several frigates with a single shot, and can seriously harm destroyers and larger ships.
The Protector's forward engines were removed, and additional armour plating installed in their place, to direct enemy fire away from the core and the center of the hull.
The GCBS Protector is reportedly currently undergoing retrofitting and modification of it's primary weapon systems, so it is currently impossible to determine it's main armament. Analysts expect it to be armed plasma cannon turrets, however, with high chances of laser-assisted target acquisition.
GCBS SAVIOUR
Commanding Officer: Terran Alliance Navy Captain Phillip Monroe
Executive Officer: Str'eck Combine Navy Shipmaster Orm'skel'mos

The GCBS Saviour is a relatively new addition to the Council's armada that was supposedly constructed by an unknown military contractor, and fulfills the role of Fast Response Battleship, rapidly responding to threats where heavier firepower is needed and where other battleships may not arrive in time. The GCBS Saviour does not mount as many weapons as the other battleships, but it's guns are enhanced over their standard counterparts in a number of ways, providing more bang for their buck, as the saying goes.
The Saviour excels at hit-and-run attacks, an uncommon tactic for something as large as a battleship, although it's armour is somewhat weaker than normal, meaning it is not so suited for prolonged fire fights. Nevertheless, it can admirably hold it's own against enemies and delay them until heavier backup arrives, or until the enemy is forced to depart.
GCDN GUARDIAN
Commanding Officer: Unconfirmed
Executive Officer: Unconfirmed
Technically not a Battleship but a Dreadnaught, the Guardian is a titanic vessel that is still under construction. It will be permanently assigned to GCHQ to act as a final line of defense should the Council come under attack. It's said that it's railgun batteries will be able to strike anywhere in the system, given proper targeting data.

Non-capital craft;
GCIC "Hunter"-class Interceptor

A fast and deadly craft, the Hunter's weapons are most effective against enemy fighters. Two autoguns allow it to unleash devastating hails of fire, and a 360 microgun turret gives it power to strike at anything too close. Finally, two missile racks allow it to unleash volleys of anti-fighter missiles.
NB: Image taken at maximum zoom in shipmaker. The Hunter is tiny - smaller than one of your fingernails at default zoom. It is, in fact, smaller even than a section nine, and roughly the same size as a fully-sized pulse turret.

Galactic Council - Capital: Galactic Council Headquarters
Not a race per se, the Council is more like a governing body that oversees interstellar politics. Almost all races have two representatives on the council; a governmental representative, part of the Galactic Senate, and a military representative, part of the Military Concord. The Galactic Senate covers domestic matters, such as economics, colony ownership, and so on. The Military Concord consists of each races' finest generals, tacticians and strategists, and they discuss matters of galactic security, enforcing galactic law and assigning the Council Battleships their quarterly duties.
Str'eck Combine - Capital: Raxus V
A race of hardy and highly adaptive insectoids with a rigid caste-based system and a sense of personal honour, the Str'eck are cold, calculating and brutally effective commanders. Whilst they may not possess the flexibility and quick thinking of human commanders, str'eck commanders are some of the best - a reputation other races have come to respect and even fear. The str'eck maintain civil (if somewhat cool) relations with the other races. The Combine is cautious in it's dealings with others, but they are fine engineers and mechanics, known for their technical expertise and the ability to learn quickly. The str'eck are mostly peaceful, though their armada is always ready.
Terran Alliance - Capital: New Terra
With the devastation of Earth in 2155 during the Colony Wars, mankind was split apart - confused and barely able to fend for itself. Megacorps struggled to stay in the black as they managed their finances with utmost care and secrecy. In the end, the leaders of the megacorporations banded together to form the Terran Alliance, a move that would first return humanity to it's original strength, and then multiply that strength tenfold over the next century. As the Alliance expanded it's borders, it eventually ran into the Galactic Council. At first, things were tense - the Alliance had unwittingly laid claim to several worlds within the borders of other empires - though these empires would never be able to exploit the worlds due to inhospitable conditions.. fortunately, the Council managed to help smooth things over, and the Alliance prospers.
Chiana Coalition - Capital: Chiana Coalition Mothership
In 2247, a large fleet of unidentified ships was spotted heading straight for the Galactic Council headquarters. All craft went on high alert and formed a defensive perimeter around the facility, but when the fleet dropped out of their FTL travel, the defenders saw hundreds upon thousands of civilian vessels - cargo ships, mobile stations, ancient passenger liners - and came face to face with the Chiana Coalition, a loose band of travelers. Whilst their overall galactic influence is weak at best, where the Chiana Fleet roams, people take notice. The Chiana are a race of methane-breathing humanoids that were forced to flee their homeworld after it started to undergo cataclysmic seismic events. The majority of their kind escaped - and watched as their lush homeworld tore itself apart. The cause of the events remains unknown even to this day.
