Next Generation Auriak Fleet

Archives for ships and fleets. 'nuff said. Most of the ships here are very very old and will not work in current versions of BSF or SM. You have been warned!

Next Generation Auriak Fleet

Post by Auriak »

Thanks to the new technologies of the ship builder (fully recolourable weapons) and the introduction of layered armour (thank you Anna), the Auriak have produced a new fleet of warships ready to do battle with all interstellar enemies.

Some of the ships have the same names as previous vessels, and some have changed roles. There are a few new warships which use the cutting edge of defensive and offensive technologies. Due to advances in computer automation technologies, the largest warships only need ten or twelve crew members to work at peak efficiency. Due to the size of the ships, crew members get around by warp gateways, the conventional corridors remain for emergency situations or exercise.

In the above picture, the top-most vessel is the Megarian, the most advanced Auriak starship currently in existence and the personal battleship of Supreme Commander Kyas. It's advanced beam is composed of nine modded megabeamers and looks really cool when they all fire in unison.

Just below the Megarian is the Elemental, advanced war cruiser. It has a jumbo sized Eulinium power core (big blue thing in the front) which provides energy for its Nova Beamer. These ships are flown by Auriak Commanders.

Below and in front of the Megarian is the Templar class battlecruiser. It is the Auriak heavy warship, for when things get serious.

Below and in front of the Elemental is the Archon starcruiser. It is the main line battleship of the Auriak fleet. Though lightly armed, it is still a force to be reckoned with.

At the bottom-left of the image is the Saurian carrier. In addition to launching hordes of fighters, it repairs smaller vessels.

Below the Archon is the Helian class destroyer. It fires swarms of drone missles to bypass enemy deflectors and rip apart smaller ships.

At the very front in between the Templar and Archon is the Firemoth yacht. It is not a dedicated warship, posessing only a small beam weapon. It is use primarily as a scout ship.

The last vessel in the formation is the Pod. It converts Zero-point Energy into matter, slowly growing into a complete starship. It is utterly useless in combat, except maybe as a distraction.

The vast majority of firepower on these ships is directed toward the front. Only the drone tubes (minus the two drone tubes on the front of the Helian), demeters, and the Firemoth beam have 360 degree firing arcs.
Also, these vessels for the most part screw the stock ships over completely.

Oh my God, I fell in love with those colours. It's almost like neon or something. Awesome work, man, kudos.

Those are the most beautifully colored ships i've ever seen.
How do you do those outlines?

Whoa...as everyone says, the colour scheme is simply amazing. Can't wait to plagarise it. :D (Note: I do see some similarities to Siber's colour scheme, though...)

I got the outline from Anna. And go ahead and use the colour scheme, if it's so good then it should be on more ships  . Has anyone tried them out in combat yet? They are quite powerful from the front but are vulnerable to tremendous amounts of missles and plasmas.

You did a good job of emulating the outline style that I use. Very nice work, Auriak. They're interesting designs, although a little more colour wouldn't hurt.

Yeah I put the Elemental up against the Aralonian Battle-A DA and its whole nose got blown off. The only reason it won was because it had a great big block of Aegis in the middle 8) . Now I'm trying to figure out what kinds of colours I should add to the ships. Maybe more glowing orange sections?

Those are beautiful. I love the shiny neon blue, and you copied Anna's effect really well.

I used dark coloured pieces for the hulls, then cloned them, expanded the clones and coloured them white.

By the way thank you for all the nice replies :D .

I wonder if it's possible to get that exact shade of blue for a hull color...

droolgasms.

I'll admit I don't like the yellow on the smaller ships, it doesn't fit with the awesome blueness of the rest of the fleet.

Nah the yellow is fine, otherwise everything else would look too boring
