It's to signify that the engine is stronger and thus generates a higher temperature, I expect.

It looks good to me, either way. I'd suggest maybe extending out the nose a tiny bit to narrow it down to a point.

Also it covers the thrusters and the aegis, which look artificial.

If you want to re-jig the glow so that it follows somewhat more of a gradient from white to yellow to orange, feel free. But the basic idea is to hide the thrusters and aegis. I stole the idea from someone else, though I can't now remember who that was.

So, with a nod to Python, can we get on with it?
