Been playing Defcon lately... cute little indie game simulating the a nuclear tradeoff. Quite interesting, especially since the AI is notoriously difficult to beat.

The UGTO dreadnought's neck is a bit too dark in my opinion, kinda decapitates the head aesthetically. Just my opinion.

allow me, Doogie12, but I don't think that ships in BSF are meant to be "flat" pieces. There are supposed to be variations in depth, and in my opinion, those variations didn't translate into a "smooth, waxed" feel.

imo, it's the round head. The pieces used makes it look very roughly cut, not waxed and smoothed. I guess that would go for the rest of the ship--the ship pieces used needs to have high color contrasts between light and dark in order to get that "shiny" look.

These look nice. They give that refined, polished new look of old ships. The Athena's head, nice choice in using blue instead of white--it feels extra "techy" instead of bland.

My only question is: will you be refining the aliens and pirates?

That really depends on you... if you feel that you've improved to the degree that it would cost less time to build a new ship from scratch than to fix your old ships, by all means. However, I really doubt that... so I would say maybe you should see how much you can improve with these before moving on.

I like all of the ships except for firefly--the tip looks a bit bland.
